# Use Synorb in Claude

Synorb has two connectors for Claude.

## Synorb Discover: no account

Discover searches the streams Synorb covers: news, filings, research, speeches
and podcasts from thousands of public sources. It needs no account, key or
sign-in, and it only reads.

1. In Claude, open Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector.
2. Name it `Synorb Discover` and enter `https://mcp.synorb.com/discover/mcp`.
3. Choose No sign-in, then add the connector.

Tools: Search streams (`synorb-stream-search`), Rank streams for a topic
(`synorb-catalog`), Show stream details (`synorb-details`) and Preview a Beacon
(`synorb-configure-beacon`, nothing is saved).

## Synorb with your Synorb Key

To read Manifests and save Beacons, connect Synorb with your own Synorb Key.
Get a key at https://synorb.com/connect.

1. In Claude, open Settings > Connectors > Add custom connector.
2. Name it `Synorb` and enter `https://mcp.synorb.com/mcp`.
3. Choose No sign-in. Under Request headers, add `Authorization` with the value
   `Bearer YOUR_SYNORB_KEY`.
4. Add the connector. Keep the key out of the server URL and out of chat.

Reading Manifests counts against your plan's monthly allowance. Each answer
shows your usage. Searching streams does not count.

## Troubleshooting

- Cannot connect: the URL must be exactly `https://mcp.synorb.com/discover/mcp`
  or `https://mcp.synorb.com/mcp` (Streamable HTTP).
- "Missing Synorb Key": the tool needs a key. Use Discover, or check the
`Authorization` header (`Bearer`, a space, then the key).
- "rate_limited": wait the number of seconds the error gives.
- No streams match: try other words, a publisher, a ticker, or `audio`.

## Privacy and support

Synorb receives only the arguments of each tool call. Privacy policy:
